Today’s Question: – Abby S Q – I have a question I was hoping someone might be able to help me with. I consistently get a really full, bloated feeling after I eat a meal, it’s really uncomfortable and annoying. Do you have any suggestions that could help me? A – Thanks for thinking of us Abby, I can make a few suggestions that may help. Let’s get the obvious out of the way, evaluate your consumption. Simply overeating will lead to bloating and discomfort. Evaluate the types of foods you are eating; rich and fatty foods will lead to your bloating. You need to eat foods your body can break down easier, like whole foods (unprocessed and unrefined). Stay away from foods that are fried, sugary, refined grains, processed, diary, etc. Eat slower and make sure to thoroughly chew your food. Digestion actually starts in your mouth, the more your food is broken down in your mouth the easier it will digest and pass through your intestines. Try not to drink too much while you are eating, research has shown this to interfere with digestion. If you do decide to drink something, sip on some water, stay away from sodas and milk, these will cause bloating and discomfort. Below is a link to an article we published earlier this week about digestion, give that a read, it will also help give you some more pointers. Digestion Article: <<<5 Tips For a Bullet Proof Digestive System>>> The key is to eat whole foods slowly, thoroughly chewing for easier digestion. Limit your thick and hardy foods and overconsumption. If you have a very clean and healthy diet, you are possibly looking at autoimmune digestion problems. This is nothing to be alarmed of yet, I suggest a good probiotic or digestive enzyme to help your body with the digestive process. We carry both products, here are some links to discounted pages if you'd like to try them: Hope this helps, thanks Abby
